Pfizer
Morris Plains, New Jersey
Project Type: Cafeteria Design Project Size: n/a Services Provided: Architectural, Engineering and Food Service Design Services. Project Description: Jarmel Kizel completed two major cafeteria projects for Pfizer in Morris Plains, New Jersey. The Pfizer campus consists of over 750,000 square feet and six buildings that house over 6,000 employees. The cafeterias located in two of the six buildings provide breakfast, lunch and catering services to the facility. Jarmel Kizel designed the renovations for the thirty-year-old facilities. Unique Project Aspects: In both cases, Pfizer had to demolish the existing cafeterias and construct new facilities. In order to continue to service the Pfizer employees, temporary cafeterias had to be set up and construction had to be phased so as to not disrupt food service. The overall design scheme of these two cafeterias adopted by Jarmel Kizel was one that utilized many unique materials to create a high-tech, clean environment. Materials that were used included ceramic tile, granite, metal laminates and custom woods. There was also very careful consideration given to the display lighting treatment. |
