Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers,
Inc. was founded by
Marvin Jarmel in 1975, as ISS - Interior Space Specialists, Inc. The Firm
initially specialized in the interior design of corporate offices and
provided design, product procurement and construction management services.
In the early 1990's, his two sons, Matthew, an architect, and Richard, an
engineer, joined the firm and began to transform it into a general practice
of architectural services. Irwin Kizel, an architect and professional
planner, with vast building experience, joined the firm shortly thereafter.
In March
of 2000, to mark the Firm’s 25th anniversary and to show its pride in their
work, the principals changed the Firm’s name to Jarmel Kizel Architects and
Engineers, Inc.
Today, Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc. is one of the largest,
full-service architectural and engineering firms in New Jersey. In 1998, the
Firm added a full-service engineering department, which allows it to handle
virtually all aspects of both the architectural and engineering components
of buildings.
The Firm considers itself general practitioners of Architectural and
Engineering Services. However, specialties include: Commercial Interior
Design, Office Building Design, Industrial Building Design, Building
Renovation Design for adaptive reuse, Data Center Design and Educational
Facility Design. Also, the Firm’s Principals have extensive experience with
the development process and have been qualified as expert witnesses before
Municipal Planning and Zoning Boards.
The staff is composed of Registered Architects, Intern Architects, Interior
Designers, Engineers, Technical Support and Administrative Personnel. The
diverse background of the multi-disciplinary staff allows the Firm to
respond quickly and effectively to clients needs. They successfully complete
projects with limited time schedules and are sensitive to their clients’
operational requirements, aesthetic concerns and construction budgets.
Jarmel Kizel’s executive committee is organized as follows: Marvin Jarmel is
engaged in the day-to-day business operations of the firm and oversees all
Interior Design assignments for the firm. Irwin Kizel oversees
production, scheduling and architectural design; Matthew Jarmel is
responsible for marketing, sales and strategic planning; Richard Jarmel
heads the engineering department and directs field operations. All four,
also act as project managers, ensuring principal involvement on every
assignment.
