CONSTRUCTION AGGRESSIVELY
MOVES AHEAD ON ADAPTIVE REUSE CONDOMINIUM PROJECT IN JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY
JARMEL KIZEL AND D-6 DEVELOPMENTS TEAM TO CREATE
SEVEN NEW LUXURY RESIDENCES
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (FEBRUARY 5 2007) —Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers,
Inc., reports that construction of a seven-unit luxury condominium project
located at 50 Journal Square in Jersey City, New Jersey, is underway and
construction is moving at a rapid pace.
Jarmel Kizel, along with D6 Developments LLC, a private real estate
development company, which specializes in multi-family, retail and adaptive
reuse projects, is renovating a 1920s-era, eight-story office building and
repositioning the facility into luxury condominiums. The building will be
called Arcade Condominiums, and will include seven 1,500-square-foot
single-floor residences over 3,000 square feet of ground floor retail. The
building is located in the Journal Square section of the city which has been
recognized as the premier location for new development off of the
waterfront. The Arcade building is located directly across the street from
the Journal Square PATH station, adjacent to public parking and surrounded
by retail.
Jarmel Kizel is responsible for the architectural and engineering design of
the project, as well as obtaining land entitlements.
Matthew B. Jarmel, AIA, MBA, principal of Jarmel Kizel commented, “This is
such an exciting project for us to be involved with and we are pleased to be
assisting D6 in bringing its vision for this historic office building to
life. This is a unique adaptive reuse project, and once completed will offer
its residents an upscale lifestyle with a host of first-class amenities.”
“We are pleased to be converting this former office building into a
condominium community that will greatly benefit Jersey City and hopefully be
the impetus for other conversions of obsolete buildings,” commented Jon
Mills, principal-in-charge of development and leasing, D6 Developments. “Its
location in the heart of Jersey City’s downtown is quickly becoming a
desirable destination for variety of homeowners from empty-nesters to
business professionals commuting into Manhattan. Jersey City is also
witnessing a tremendous surge of new residential developments, which is
creating a plethora of living dining and cultural venues.”
