ISS FOR FLEX BUILDING FACILITY DESIGN

1999- Glenbrook Technologies is a leading manufacturer of x-ray inspection
instrument equipment used primarily for electronics and medical devices for
quality control purposes. For their new facility located on Emery Avenue in
Randolph, New Jersey the company retained the services of The ISS
Architectural Group, Inc. to redesign a 15,000 square foot free standing
building which serves as their corporate headquarters and manufacturing
facility. North Jersey Development is the landlord.
The Emery Avenue facility represented the first newly designed office for
Glenbrook Technologies. The company required a space design that would
accommodate both their executive and sales operations as well as heavy
technical equipment. An additional key ingredient of Glenbrook's needs was
that their facility needed to be able to impress guests and clients from
around the world. Winner of the prestigious Invention of the Year Award for
innovation by the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Glenbrook's facility
includes a woodworking shop, darkroom and a manufacturing area as well as
elegant office suites and common areas.
After considerable planning and intensive research into Glenbrook's
operational needs, ISS designed a clean, high-tech space plan that carefully
accommodated their sensitive and expensive equipment as well as providing
for an efficient use of office space. What was most critical to Glenbrook
was the internal flow of their operations in their space design. Glenbrook
is one of the few companies in the world that manufactures their own x-ray
cameras and it was vital to their business that their manufacturing
operations were tailored to their various applications.
